Vol. II of the Members’ Library · a digital volume, yours for keeping
Structured drills, seasonal conditioning schedules, and the philosophy of deliberate practice — for the player who takes the long view. Where our first volume sets down the craft, this one sets down the work: a practical compendium of solo and paired drills, week-by-week training blocks, and the honest, unglamorous routines that turn a good hour of practice into a better season on court.
Most players practise the way they clear their inbox — busily, without a plan, and with little to show for the hour. We wrote Serve & Volley to replace that habit with a structure: drills chosen for a purpose, blocks that build on one another, and a season mapped out rather than muddled through.
It is the compendium we assembled for our own training over the years, tidied and set in order. Follow it loosely and you will improve; follow it faithfully and you will surprise yourself by the spring. Either way, the work is laid out plainly — the doing is left to you.
— The founders, Nick & Tin
The solo-drill chapter alone justified the price. I finally know what to do with a lonely hour on the glass, and my length has come on enormously since the twelve-week block.
Sensible, structured, and refreshingly free of fads. My practice partner and I now arrive with a plan rather than a vague intention.
The periodised year turned my aimless practice into a season with a shape.
